Ayman al-Zawahri has called on Sunni Muslims to overthrow President Bashar Assad and set up Islamic rule

President Bashar Assad and set up Islamic rule

Austria will recall its peacekeepers from the U.N. monitoring force on the Golan Heights after worsening fighting between Syrian government forces and rebels sent its soldiers scurrying into bunkers for cover.

The dramatic announcement came as the leader of Al Qaeda, Ayman al-Zawahri, rallied all Sunni Muslims to overthrow President Bashar Assad and set up Islamic rule in the country
Austrians account for about 380 of the 1,000-strong U.N. force observing a decades-old ceasefire between Syria and Israel, and their departure after 39 years will deal a serious blow to the mission.
'Our soldiers are not trained or deployed for a military operation between government troops and rebels,' Austrian Chancellor Werner Faymann told a news conference, saying they were not safe in a buffer zone that was no longer respected.
A U.N. spokeswoman said Austria had been a 'backbone of the mission' and its withdrawal would affect the force's operational capacity.
The decision came hours after Syrian rebels seized a U.N.-manned border crossing linking Syria and Israel. Israeli security sources later reported Syrian troops had retaken it after heavy fighting.
Austrian Defence Minister Gerald Klug said the pullout would likely take place over two to four weeks, with the first troops perhaps coming out as part of a planned rotation next Tuesday.
He said the withdrawal could take place much faster if the situation escalated - 'a shorter orderly exit within a few hours is possible' - and said returning soldiers could eventually join other Austrian peacekeeping missions in global hot spots.
Ayman al-Zawahri was Osama bin Laden's number two
Ayman al-Zawahri was Osama bin Laden's number two and his comments will fuel fears that British weapons could fall into terrorists' hands
The United Nations said it was in discussions with other countries about providing replacement troops.

As Austria made its dramatic announcement, Britain and France led calls today to support rebel forces in Syria after the leader of Al Qaeda rallied all Sunni Muslims to overthrow President Bashar Assad and set up Islamic rule in the country.
The demand by Ayman al-Zawahri - for years Osama Bin Laden's number two - will fuel the fears of those who warn that arms supplied by the UK could end-up in the hands of terrorist-linked fighters and add to the chaos of the civil war.
Islamic groups, such as the Al Qaeda-linked Jabhat al-Nusra, are the most organized and most effective force fighting on the rebel side in Syria.
The U.S. and its European allies, who have backed the opposition, share Israel's concern that Islamic radical factions may take over the rebel ranks gaining access to weapons that could eventually be used against the West.

Underlining the concerns over the supply of arms, more than 80 Conservative MPs have signed a letter to David Cameron demanding a Commons vote before Britain sends any to the Syrian rebels.
It comes a day after it emerged at least six senior members of the Security Council have raised concerns over handing weapons to the opposition and four days after a young Briton believed to be fighting alongside al-Nursa was killed in Syria.
The letter, drafted by North West Leicestershire MP Andrew Bridgen, follows the tabling of a Commons early day motion on Wednesday and repeated questions to the Prime Minister on the issue.
Tory MPs have expressed unease about Britain's escalating role in the continuing war in Syria after Britain secured a relaxation of the arms embargo to allow weapons to be sent.
Mr Bridgen said yesterday: 'There is considerable concern in this House and the country about us being pulled further into another Middle Eastern conflict where there appear to be many sides but no end.'

Push:
Push: Syrian army troops drive through the ravaged streets - the gain could also embolden Assad to push for all-out military victory rather than participate in peace talks being promoted by the United States and Russia
Al Qaeda's call came as Assad's forces fought off an attempt by rebels to seize the sole crossing between Syria and Israel yesterday, while army troops sought to ram home strategic gains further to the north.
A day after losing control of Qusair, an important town close to the Lebanese border, rebels tried to grab back the initiative with an assault on Quneitra - a demilitarised zone on the Golan Heights that is patrolled by the United Nations.
Syrian troops and their Lebanese Hezbollah allies led a victory parade through the streets of a Qusair after a bloody battle with rebel forces.
The regime triumph in the strategic border town, which Assad's forces had bombarded for months without success, demonstrates the potentially game-changing role of Hezbollah in Syria's civil war.
The gain could also embolden Assad to push for all-out military victory rather than participate in peace talks being promoted by the United States and Russia.
Earlier today a UN-monitored crossing in the Golan Heights was overrun by rebel forces, but it has the Syrian army has now taken control, Israeli military sources say.

Resistant
Resistant: Both sides had dug in for an all-out battle for Qusair, a key crossroads town of supply lines between Damascus and western and northern Syria that had been under rebel control since early last year
For the first time since the start of the uprising in March 2011, the rebels briefly took control of the area, sending U.N. peacekeepers scurrying to their bunkers. Israeli sources said Syrian forces wrested back the site after fierce fighting.
Austria said it would withdraw its 377 peacekeepers from the 1,000-strong U.N. monitoring force because of the fighting.
Pro-government troops have won a string of successes in recent weeks, boosting Assad at a time when the United States and Russia are struggling to organise a peace conference aimed at ending the civil war, which has killed more than 80,000.
Activists pushed out of the devastated town of Qusair this week issued a desperate plea for help, saying they were cornered by both Syrian troops and their powerful Lebanese allies, the Shi'ite Hezbollah.
Tapping into that deepening Sunni-Shi'ite rift, Al-Zawahri called on Sunnis everywhere to devote their lives, money and expertise to the fight to overthrow the regime, set up Islamic rule in Syria and prevent a U.S.-allied government from taking over after Assad.
The Egyptian-born Al Qaeda leader also urged Sunnis to 'rise above their differences' and fight expanding Shiite influence in Syria.

The authenticity of al-Zawahri's message, which came in an audio recording on the Internet, could not be independently confirmed but it was posted on a militant website commonly used by al-Qaida.
Al-Zawahri has repeatedly called for holy war in Syria and has blasted Lebanese Hezbollah militants and Iran for supporting Assad.
Hezbollah has a vested interest in the survival of Assad's regime. It deepened its involvement in the civil war by sending fighters over the past month to battle rebels in Qusair, an overwhelmingly Sunni town and an opposition stronghold in western Syria.
Amid heightened sectarian tensions in the wider region, the US has called on Iran and Hezbollah to withdraw fighters from Syria.
Several rockets landed in the Hezbollah stronghold of Baalbek inside Lebanon late on Wednesday - after rebel threats to strike at Hezbollah on its home turf.
Meanwhile, on the international front, France said growing proof of chemical weapons use in Syria 'obliges the international community to act'.
Today the United Nations' peacekeeping operations chief confirmed there had been incidents including shooting on the Syrian-Israeli border.

The Shiite militant group lost dozens of fighters in the battle for Qusair, underlining its commitment in support of Assad's regime and edging the fight in Syria further into a regional sectarian conflict pitting the Middle East's Iranian-backed Shiite axis against Sunnis.
Most of the armed rebels in Syria are members of the country's Sunni Muslim majority, while Assad has retained core support among the country's minorities, including his own Alawite sect, an offshoot of Shiite Islam, along with Christians and Shiite Muslims.
The overt involvement by Hezbollah, which is heavily invested in the survival of the Damascus regime, has raised tensions considerably in Lebanon, where the militants have come under harsh criticism.
The White House on Wednesday night condemned the town's capture and said Hezbollah's involvement threatens Lebanon's stability.
Spokesman Jay Carney said in a statement that Assad's regime couldn't wrest control of the town alone and had to rely on help from Hezbollah.
He said Syria's government must allow the U.N. and others to evacuate Qusair's wounded and provide medical treatment.

In the predominantly Shiite northeastern town of Bazzalieh, nsear the Lebanese city of Baalbek, Hezbollah supporters set up a check point, distributing sweets to people and firing in the air in celebration.
'Today, we defeated the other Israel,' declared Ali al-Bazzal, 23, waving a yellow Hezbollah flag.
Over the past two months, the Syrian army has moved steadily against rebels in key battleground areas, making advances near the border with Lebanon and considerably lowering the threat to Damascus, the seat of Assad's government.
Qusair's fall could boost the momentum for Syrian troops in rolling back rebel gains in other parts of central Homs province, as well as in northern Syria, where the sides have been locked in a stalemate for months. Pro-regime media outlets have said government forces are preparing to move to recapture the contested northern city of Aleppo next.
The blow to the rebel movement - compounded by deepening divisions in opposition ranks - was likely to further discourage it from entering peace negotiations with the regime, which the United States and Russia have been trying to put together in Geneva.
Power struggle
Power struggle: Earlier today a UN-monitored crossing in the Golan Heights was overrun by rebel forces, but it has the Syrian army has now taken control, Israeli military sources say (file photo)
Assad's regime has agreed in principle to attend, but the opposition has balked, saying it won't participate while 'massacres are taking place.'
Qusair - formerly home to some 40,000 people - was key for both sides.
It lies on a land corridor linking two Assad strongholds, the capital of Damascus and an area along the Mediterranean coast that is the heartland of his minority Alawite sect.
For the rebels, Qusair was a crucial conduit for weapons, fighters and supplies smuggled into Syria from Lebanon.
The fall of Qusair provides the best evidence to date that the growing participation of Hezbollah fighters alongside Assad's troops is a potential game changer in the more than 2-year-old conflict that has left more than 70,000 people dead.
In a sign of the growing fears of a regional spillover, Jordanian officials on Wednesday said the U.S. will send anti-missile batteries and fighter jets to Jordan at the kingdom's request to boost defense capabilities in the face of an attack from Syria.

A 33-year-old Michigan woman who converted to Islam after marrying an Arab immigrant has been shot dead in Syria by government forces who claimed she was part of an al-Qaeda influenced group.
Two FBI agents traveled to see family members of Nicole Lynn Mansfield today and confirmed to them their relative was dead after Syrian state television broadcast images of her passport on Wednesday.
The government controlled television station said that Mansfield was shot while driving in Idlib in the northwest of the country and aired her license in which she is seen to wear an Islamic headscarf and her address listed as Flint, Michigan.

The news report speculated that Mansfield was a terrorist and said that she was shot alongside two people from the UK.
Family members in Michigan confirmed to the Detroit Free Press that the images seen on Syrian television are of Mansfield.
'I am sick over it,' said the deceased woman's aunt, Monica Mansfield Speelman. 'I didn’t think she was (a terrorist), but God only knows.'
Speelman confirmed that Mansfield met an Arab man several years ago and converted to Islam and began wearing a hijab and headscarf.
However, Speelman added that the couple divorced three years ago after he was able to get a green card to stay in the U.S.
Speelman claimed not to know the name of the Arab man, nor why her niece was in Syria - although she added that her niece's conversion 'bothered' her.
However, Mansfield was adamant that Islam was the right choice for her.

She told people 'that the best way of life was to be a Muslim. And that women should wear scarves...women should always cover their head,' Nicole’s grandmother, Carole Mansfield, 72, told the Free Press.
Nicole Lynn Mansfield reportedly grew up in Flint, Michigan. to Baptist parents and her father used to be a production worker for GM.
She attended Mott Community College and worked as a home health care worker for 10 years, according to her grandmother.
She dropped out of high school when she fell pregnant with her daughter, who is now 18-years-old.
'She had a heart of gold, but she was weak minded,' Mansfield said. 'I think she could have been brain washed.'
Records showed that Mansfield lived in an apartment complex at a different address from her home on Longway Boulevard, according to MLive. An eviction notice was posted on the door dated May 21, 2013.
She is reported to have paid $475 per month, for the three-bedroom apartment  since October 8, 2012 but was believed to be secretly subletting it not long after.

Earlier the State Department said it was urgently investigating a report from Syrian television that an American citizen has been killed by government forces during the country's civil war.
An official for the U.S. State Department speaking on condition of anonymity informed the Reuters news agency that U.S. authorities were 'aware of the case' and were working with the Czech Republic mission in Syria to get more information.
The woman was reported to be traveling with two other unidentified Westerners, both British citizens, when forces loyal to President Bashar al-Assad opened fire.
Syrian state television has claimed that the three deceased individuals were fighting with al-Qaeda affiliated rebels and were carrying weapons when they opened fire.
The three dead Westerners are all reported to be Muslim.
'As we do in all such cases, we are working through our Czech protecting power in Syria to obtain more information, and we appreciate the efforts of the Czech mission on behalf of our citizens,' the official said.
He added that U.S. authorities could not comment further 'because of privacy considerations.'
Syrian state television on Wednesday released what it said was the name of an American woman who was killed in Idlib province as well as the name of a man who it said was a British citizen killed in the country. The other man had no documents on him.

Reports claimed the three people were ambushed by government forces in their car while traveling through the province of Idlib in northwestern Syria - which has been a flashpoint during the two-year-long civil war in the troubled nation.
The television footage showed a black car riddled with bullets and three bodies laid out also with multiple gunshot wounds.
The MailOnline has seen these images but is not publishing them.

Other images shown on Syrian state television include an alleged cache of weapons the three were carrying, a hand drawn map of a government military facility and a flag belonging to the al-Qaeda affliiated al-Nusra Front.
If the reports of the deceased woman turn out to be true, they will not be the first time that an American citizen has died fighting in Syria's civil war.
In March, Eric Harroun, 30, a former soldier from Phoenix was arrested by the FBI as he returned to the United States from Syria.
He was charged with using a rocket-propelled grenade during his time in Syria where he allegedly fought for al-Nusra Front.
An FBI affidavit seen by CNN alleges that Harroun crossed into Syria in January 2013 and fought against al-Assad's forces. He uploaded photos and videos of himself on the Internet handling RPGs and other weapons, according to the affidavit.
A Pinterest account belonging to a Nicole Mansfield from Flint, Michigan, is believed to belong to the 33-year-old.
She was active on the site until ten weeks ago. Of her 13 followers, several are people from Michigan who have converted to Islam.
Many of the pictures she has put up are of puppies, birds, food and places she would like to go. There is a folder called 'Islam' which are mainly stock images of mosques, people worshiping and the holy city of Mecca.
Another album called Hometown Love Never Die shows several pictures of Flint, including Vernor's ginger ale company,  a 'Coney dog' - a Michigan variation of the chili dog - and in recognition of Michigan's doomed economy, one image shows a large stone that reads: 'God help save us Flint.'

Israel launched an airstrike into Syria, apparently targeting a suspected weapons site, U.S. officials said Friday night.
The strike occurred overnight Thursday into Friday, the officials told The Associated Press. One official said the strike appeared to have hit a warehouse.
The U.S. officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss the matter publicly.

Israel has targeted weapons in the past that it believes are being delivered to the Lebanon-based militant group Hezbollah. Earlier this week, Hezbollah leader Sheikh Hassan Nasrallah said his group would assist Syrian President Bashar Assad if needed in the effort to put down a 2-year-old uprising.
Israeli Embassy spokesman Aaron Sagui would not comment Friday night specifically on the report of an Israeli strike into Syria.
"What we can say is that Israel is determined to prevent the transfer of chemical weapons or other game-changing weaponry by the Syrian regime to terrorists, specially to Hezbollah in Lebanon," Sagui said in an email to the AP.
In 2007, Israeli jets bombed a suspected nuclear reactor site along the Euphrates River in northeastern Syria, an attack that embarrassed and jolted the Assad regime and led to a buildup of the Syrian air defense system. Russia provided the hardware for the defense systems upgrade and continues to be a reliable supplier of military equipment to the Assad regime.
The new strike came hours before President Barack Obama told reporters at a news conference in Costa Rica on Friday that he didn't foresee a scenario in which the U.S. would send troops to Syria. More than 70,000 peoples have died and hundreds of thousands have fled the country as the Assad regime has battled rebels.

An informed America is a safe America.

The USA keeps giving to countries who spit on our flag, who kills our officials, who calls for the death of our citizens and yet the average Americans are too busy trying to earn a living to even think! Yet the main stream media refuses to even put this on the air as news. Time for a clean swipe of both Houses. An informed America is a safe America.

Jihadist Calls on Muslims in France to Become a "Trojan Horse" and Attack French Civilians

Jihadist Calls on Muslims in France to Become a "Trojan Horse" and Attack French Civilians

The following is a message to France from the Mujahideen of Syria that was posted on the Internet on January 23, 2013.

Jihadist: This Message is addressed to the French Republic and its people from the Mujahideen of Syria, following the French government's decision to attack our noble brothers, who instated the shari'a, who fought polytheism, who spread monotheism in northern Mali – the law of Allah, the shari'a, the only legislation to which a Muslim may submit.

The most fundamental right of a Muslim is to live according to his religion, and his duty is to strive to instate it on the lands of Islam.

A Mujahid fights so that the word of Allah may reign supreme.

The simple reason that drives France and its allies to attack and kill those who establish the shari'a in Muslim countries is that they want to maintain the subservient regimes that agreed to be their vassals, to serve their interests in Muslim countries, and to oppress them with their tyranny.

As a result of the decision of the French government, which is not satisfied with preventing our virtuous sisters from donning the veil in accordance with Allah's decree, and with constantly fighting Islam and the Muslims...

Today, in addition to its presence alongside the Crusaders in Afghanistan, France has become the banner of heresy and of the enemies of Allah, by attacking Islamic Mali.

As a bitter consequence, we urge and encourage Muslims worldwide, as well as those living in France, to perform their religious duty like a Trojan horse – to hit French interests, their institutions, their military, and their civilians, on the national territory (of France), as well as abroad.

The aim is to terrorize them, so that the French people will have to blame their Satanic leaders for their decision, leading to the loss of the security and tranquility they once enjoyed.

They will not enjoy them anymore as long as France continues to act as an enemy of Islam and the Muslims.

We remain confident in the true promise of Allah that He will bring victory to those who support His religion, and that those who are slain for the sake of Allah will live in His Paradise, whereas the disbelievers who are killed are tormented in their graves, waiting to be fuel in the Hellfire.

I will conclude this statement by inviting you to join Islam, to read the Koran, and to follow His last Prophet and Messenger, who was sent in compassion to all of mankind to free them from submission to other men and from the worship of idols, and (to direct mankind) to submit to Allah and to worship Him exclusively.

Blow them up wherever they are, and slaughter them.

Expel them for the hills of Jerusalem and defeat them.

Leaked Explosive Videos Reveal That The Syrian Revolution is Plain Evil

Leaked Explosive Videos Reveal That The Syrian Revolution is Plain Evil

By Theodore Shoebat
We have gathered from Arab sources explosive and horrific videos captured by the Free Syrian Army and other Syrian rebels. While what we present is a fraction of what we have, the evidence will show that contrary to the praise of many in the West, the footage illustrates their wanton cruelty, and their absence of any sentiment for human suffering; masses gathered in lynching festivals, human beings chopped up like animals, executions without trials, all done under the shouts of Allahu Akbar. Masses are seen demonstrating with the same Islamist banners of al-Qaeda, and people are ritually slaughtered by the rebels. In this rough documentary, we complied the bulk of this footage to show to the West the savagery of these rebels, and the utterly dark future for not just Syria, but for the Near East as a whole if the Islamists dominate the region.
If this vidoe does not work use the link below

These atrocities are continuous in Syria; but still a good amount of thinkers and politicians express their support for the rebels, and their want for U.S. intervention and aid.

But from the footage linked in this article, it is only obvious that the peace of the world will only be assaulted if the revolutionaries of Syria are given the aid and sympathies of the West. Such condoning and praise will only empower the rebels to keep fighting, increasing their confidence that their Islamic government will vanquish Syria.

The current policy against Syria has not sufficed for senators John Mccain, Joseph Lieberman, and Lindsey Graham, who together released a statementcalling for military intervention, and weapons and ammunition supply for the rebels:

What opposition groups in Syria need most urgently is relief from Assad’s tank and artillery sieges in many cities that are still contested. Providing military assistance to the Free Syrian Army and other opposition groups is necessary, but as Assad continues to intensify his assault, that alone will not be sufficient to stop the slaughter and save innocent lives. The only realistic way to do so is with foreign airpower.

It would be only dangerous for the U.S. to lend support militarily to the Free Syrian Army; for this group is but an oppressor, kidnapping, torturing, and murdering any who are against their cause. The targets are counter-revolutionaries, Christians, Shia, Alawites, and government workers. But nevertheless, these three senators have been vocal with intense opinions on giving weaponry, ammunition, and air support, as they make clear in their own statement:

The ultimate goal of airstrikes should be to protect civilian population centers from Assad’s killing machine and establish safe havens in which opposition forces can organize, rest, refit, and plan their political and military activities against Assad. These safe havens could serve as platforms for the delivery of humanitarian and military assistance – including weapons and ammunition, body armor and other personal protective equipment, tactical intelligence, secure communications equipment, food and water, and medical supplies. These safe havens could also help the Free Syrian Army and other armed groups in Syria to train and organize themselves into more cohesive and effective military forces, likely with the assistance of foreign partners, and provide political space for the Syrian National Council to organize on Syrian soil.

If this plan is ever executed, then the U.S. would only be making the same mistake it did with Afghanistan: supplying weapons to rebels so that they may topple their current government. But, the plan is absent of any prudence, since it does not take into consideration what sort of government the rebels themselves would establish if they are victorious. It is also necessary to keep in mind that the leaders of the Syrian National Council (SNC), whom the quoted statement speaks positively of, have now went into exile. Therefore, it is irresponsible to place trust on the Free Syrian Army when the SNC, once a major funder for the revolution, are now an enemy of the rebels.

Moreover, the politicians who are in support of the Syrian revolution have not looked to the example of Egypt. The Egyptian revolution had obtained the praise of the mainstream media, and politicians such as Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama, who had saw the revolt as a cause for freedom and democracy. But once the people of Egypt were given the option of partaking in democratic elections, the majority had voted for Muhammad Mursi, thus having the Muslim Brotherhood take control of the nation. The revolution of Egypt is interconnected with the present revolt of Syria. Nizamaddin Taj, a former member of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK), made it quite clear in a recentinterview:

The Muslim Brotherhood in Syria is the only party that can seize power after the collapse of Assad, but Israel, the U.S. and Europe are very worried about the Muslim Brotherhood of Syria and believe that they are different than the Muslim Brotherhood groups of Egypt and Tunisia.

The network between the Muslim Brotherhood and the rebels is clearly shown by the financial support, and the provisions of weapons and ammunition, which the former is giving the latter. But sadly, few in intellectual circles have realized that the revolution in Egypt is a foreshadowing of what will happen in Syria if the Assad regime is ousted.

Conservative talk show host Dennis Prager, as much as I agree with him on many issues, has mistakenly taken the side of the revolution, saying in one episode:

I cannot envision anything worse than the Assad family

But by watching the footage shown in the documentary, it is most obvious that there truly is something worse than Assad, and that is Islamic fundamentalism.

With all of the reports recently presented on Syria, the most lacking element is the truth on the Syrian rebels. The sympathy and praise for the revolutionaries is reminiscent to the high esteem which certain individuals had for the French Revolution in the Eighteenth Century. But when the nature of the rebels in Syria is finally revealed, hopefully many will realize the cruel and conquering spirit of these renegades, just as numerous persons were disturbed at the use of the guillotines by the revolutionaries in France, who had caused the deaths of hundreds of thousands of their own countrymen.

The misconception which has largely been subscribed to by our culture, is that dictatorship is automatically wrong, and thus deserves to be toppled; while a nation governed by the people is always a pure aspiration worthy of being fought for. But, this is certainly not the case for all nations. Governance at the hands of the people, is only safe if the bearers of power respect the spirit of liberty. While dictatorship is at times a necessary evil for a country where the people, at any given moment, may arise and shatter the rights of the individual, enforce collectivism, and rule by the might of the mob. Syria, at this time, is defending itself from an internal invasion by a multitude of violent and warlike bandits. Surely if the power of Bashar al-Assad, the current dictator of Syria, was toppled, the supposed totalitarianism of the government will be far surpassed by the rebels, who will rule purely by the creeds of the Koran.

Once one of Syria’s closest allies, Turkey is hosting an armed opposition group waging an insurgency against the government of President Bashar al-Assad, providing shelter to the commander and dozens of members of the group, the Free Syrian Army, and allowing them to orchestrate attacks across the border from inside a camp guarded by the Turkish military.
The support for the insurgents comes amid a broader Turkish campaign to undermine Mr. Assad’s government. Turkey is expected to impose sanctions soon on Syria, and it has deepened its support for an umbrella political opposition group known as the Syrian National Council, which announced its formation in Istanbul. But its harboring of leaders in the Free Syrian Army, a militia composed of defectors from the Syrian armed forces, may be its most striking challenge so far to Damascus.
On Wednesday, the group, living in a heavily guarded refugee camp in Turkey, claimed responsibility for killing nine Syrian soldiers, including one uniformed officer, in an attack in restive central Syria.
