The US presidential race may have slowed for Hurricane Sandy, but both sides frantically worked the Internet instead to make up for lost time.
The National Jewish Democratic Council (NJDC) released to the media a link on Wednesday to a micro site claiming that GOP contender Mitt Romney has ties to Iran.
The site, titled simply “Mitt Romney and Iran,” allegedly shows “the troublesome economic ties” Romney has with the Islamic Republic.
"While Romney ties to talk tough on Iran, he allowed his personal investments and Massachusetts' pension fund to directly benefit from business with Iran,” claims the release.
However, a member of the team that wrote the 2004 Divest Terror Project report cited by Romney's accusers said the charges were unfair.
Romney had already ended his tenure as governor of Massachusetts by the time divestment had really gotten underway, said Christopher Holton, Vice President for Outreach for the Center for Security Policy. The first initiatives for pension systems to divest from Iran were passed in Florida and California, he said – and even that did not happen until well into 2007.
Romney's term as governor ended in 2007.
Holton added in an interview published last month in Times of Israel that at the time, Democratic State Senator Barack Obama also did not sponsor divestment legislation in Illinois. Once out of office, Romney attended the Herzliya Conference, where he heard about targeted divestment of companies doing business with Iran. The former governor then contacted the Massachusetts state treasurer, he said, and governors of neighboring states to set up a meeting with senior Israeli officials in Boston at the time to further discuss the issue.
"I would also remind everyone out there that we've got a lot more states still investing in foreign companies doing business with Iran, providing corporate life support to the ayatollahs,” Holton added.o

An armed private militia in Phoenix, AZ protected an
Occupy demonstration. The leader made it clear that the militia was protecting
the right of free speech, not supporting what was being said.
The militia was facing police to keep police from
interfering. Someday the police will try to interfere and exert their
authority. Bloodshed will occur; armed rebellion will follow.
Recently, Clinton County, MI voided the provision to
detain Americans under provisions in sections 1021 and 1022 of
the National Defense Authorization Act.
The legislation would prohibit any
state agent, state employee or member of the Michigan National Guard from
assisting “an agency of the armed forces of the United States in any
investigation, prosecution, or detention of any person pursuant to 50 USC 1541,
as provided by the federal national defense authorization act for fiscal year
2012, Public Law 112-81, if such aid would place that state agency, political
subdivision, employee, or member of the Michigan national guard in violation of
the United States constitution, the state constitution of 1963, or any law of
this state.”
So far this year three juries nullified the law in
criminal cases, as far as I know. There may be more.
The most recent case occurred on October 19, 2012,
in New Jersey, when Ed Forchion was acquitted for felony possession of
marijuana. Ed is a medical marijuana user who purchased his marijuana in
California, where it is legal to do so. In New Jersey, medical marijuana use is
legal, but possession of it is a crime. The jury did not buy into
it.
Eric Hafner is on trial in NJ for exactly the same
thing. We will have to wait to see what the jury decides.

piece of legislation ordering the Federal Emergency Management
Agency (FEMA) to begin preparing for mass casualties throughout the
country.
House Resolution 6566, also known as the Mass
Fatality Planning and Religious Considerations Act, would amend the Homeland Security Act of 2002 to
mandate that FEMA immediately begin conducting “mass fatality planning” in
preparation for a major event or series of events that may kill off untold
numbers of people.
Introduced by Rep. Laura Richardson (D-Ca.), H.R.
6566 provisions that the Administrator of FEMA — William Craig Fugate currently
holds the Administrator position at FEMA (http://www.fema.gov/leadership/william-craig-fugate)
— provide “guidance and coordination” for dealing with a mass casualty event
arising from a natural disaster, terrorist act, or “other man-made
disaster.”
The bill also ominously sets up the FEMA
Administrator as a type of emergency dictator with the power to control how
local communities, private businesses, nonprofit organizations, religious
organizations, and even individuals prepare for and respond to a mass fatality
event.
“Funeral homes, cemeteries, and mortuaries could be
overwhelmed should mass fatalities arise from a natural disaster,
act of terrorism, or other man-made disaster,” says the legislation, which also
specifies the manner in which people with certain religious affiliations should
be buried following their deaths.

Is the federal government preparing for a massive false flag event?
Contrary to what is being reported by some sources,
H.R. 6566 has not yet been passed by either the House of Representatives nor the
Senate, which means it has not yet become law. According to govtrack.us,
the bill was referred to a congressional committee on September 28 for

It seems as though occupiers at all levels of the
federal government know something that the rest of us do not know, which would

by the U.S. State Department, overturns the position of former President George
W. Bush's administration, which had opposed such a treaty on the grounds that
national controls were better.
On Wednesday Obama Took the First Major Step in
a Plan to Ban All Firearms in the United States. The Obama administration
intends to force gun control and a complete ban on all weapons for US citizens
through the signing of international treaties with foreign
nations.
By signing international treaties on gun control,
the Obama
administration can use the US State Department to
bypass the normal legislative process in Congress. Once the US Government signs
these international treaties, all US citizens will be subject to those gun laws
created by foreign governments. These are laws that have been developed and
promoted by organizations such as the United Nations and
individuals such as George Soros and Michael
Bloomberg. The laws are designed and intended to lead to the complete ban and
confiscation of all firearms.
The Obama administration is attempting to use
tactics and methods of gun control that will inflict major damage to our 2nd
Amendment before US citizens even understand what has happened. Obama can appear
before the public and tell them that he does not intend to pursue any
legislation (in the United States) that will lead to new gun control laws, while
cloaked in secrecy, his Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton
is committing the US to international treaties and
foreign gun control laws. Does that mean Obama is telling the truth? What it
means is that there will be no publicized gun control debates in the media or
votes in Congress. We will wake up one morning and find that the United States
has signed a treaty that prohibits firearm and ammunition manufacturers from
selling to the public. We will wake up another morning and find that the US has
signed a treaty that prohibits any transfer of firearm ownership. And then, we
will wake up yet another morning and find that the US has signed a treaty that
requires US citizens to deliver any firearm they own to the local government
collection and destruction center or face imprisonment.
This is not a joke nor a false warning. As sure
as government
health care will be forced on us by the Obama

New documents reveal events leading up to Benghazi attack
On the very day U.S. Ambassador Christopher Stevens and three other Americans were killed in the U.S. Consulate attack on Libya in September, someone on the U.S. team in Benghazi apparently spotted a suspicious member of the local police force photographing the inside of the U.S. mission.
Reporters from ForeignPolicy.com say they found a draft letter expressing concern among documents left on site more than six weeks after the attack, and nearly a month after the FBI was there collecting evidence.
One of the documents found after the Sept. 11 U.S. Consulate attack in Benghazi, Libya that left U.S. Ambassador Chris Stevens and three other Americans dead.

Notations indicate the letter was intended for the head of the Libyan Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Benghazi.
"... early this morning at 0643, September 11, 2012, one of our diligent guards made a troubling report. Near our main gate, a member of the police force was seen in the upper level of a building across from our compound. It is reported that this person was photographing the inside of the U.S. special mission and furthermore that this person was part of the police unit sent to protect the mission."
It goes on to ask for an investigation. It's unclear whether the letter was sent and what action may have been taken, but it reflects the continued security concerns of U.S. diplomats in Benghazi in the weeks and days leading up to the assault.
Another draft letter dated two days before the attack complains that requested police support for Ambassador Stevens' visit had not been supplied.
"...We requested daily, twenty-four hour police protection at the front and rear of the U.S. mission as well as a roving patrol. In addition we requested the services of a police explosive detection dog. We were given assurances from the highest authorities in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs that all due support would be provided for Ambassador Stevens' visit to Benghazi. However, we are saddened to report that we have only received an occasional police presence at our main gate. Many hours pass when we have no police support at all."
As special security teams for Libya were reduced in them months before the attack, the U.S. diplomats increasingly relied on the local Libyan security and the police force for protection. The commander of the U.S. military security team that left Benghazi a month before the attack told me relying on the Libyans was risky business because they were often found to be affiliated with the enemy.

CIA rushed to save diplomats as Libya attack was underway
The CIA rushed security operatives to an American diplomatic compound in Libya within 25 minutes after it had come under attack and played a more central role in the effort to fend off a night-long siege than has been publicly acknowledged, U.S. intelligence officials said Thursday.
The agency mobilized the evacuation effort, took control of an unarmed U.S. military drone to map possible escape routes, dispatched an emergency security team from Tripoli, the capital, and chartered aircraft that ultimately carried surviving U.S. personnel to safety on Sept. 12, U.S. officials said.
The account, which was provided to news organizations Thursday by senior U.S. intelligence officials, is the most detailed chronology presented so far of an attack that killed the U.S. ambassador to Libya and three other Americans, including two CIA security officers. The attack has become a flash point in the U.S. presidential campaign.
The decision to provide a comprehensive account of the attack five days before the election is likely to be regarded with suspicion, particularly among Republicans who have accused the Obama administration of misleading the public by initially describing the assault as a spontaneous eruption that began as a protest of an anti-Islamic video.
U.S. officials said they decided to offer a detailed account of the CIA’s role, however, to rebut media reports that have suggested that agency leaders delayed sending help to State Department officials seeking to fend off a heavily armed mob.
Instead, U.S. intelligence officials insisted that CIA operatives in Benghazi and Tripoli made decisions rapidly throughout the assault with no interference from Washington, even while acknowledging that CIA security forces were badly outmatched and largely unable to mobilize Libyan security teams until it was too late.
Among the new disclosures is that the CIA station chief in Tripoli sent an emergency security force, with about a half-dozen agency operatives as well as two U.S. military personnel, to Benghazi aboard a hastily chartered aircraft while the attack was underway.
The CIA team attempted to organize an effort to make its way to a hospital where U.S. Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens had been taken and was thought to be still alive. But the team was held up by Libyan officials at the airport and scrapped the plan to reach Stevens after learning that the security situation at the hospital was uncertain.
U.S. officials also formally acknowledged for the first time that the annex in Benghazi to which U.S. diplomatic personnel were evacuated was a CIA base that the agency had established as its first stronghold in Libya before autocrat Moammar Gaddafi was overthrown late last year.

A treasure trove of secret documents has been obtained by a Libyan source who says that secularists in his country are increasingly wanting to see Mitt Romney defeat Barack Obama on November 6th. This charge is being made despite Muslim Brotherhood losses in Libyan elections last July which resulted in victory for the secularists. One of those documents may help explain this sentiment.
It shows that in supporting the removal of Gadhafi, the Obama administration seemed to sign on to an arrangement that left forces loyal to Al-Qaeda in charge of security at the U.S. embassy in Tripoli from 2011 through at least the spring of 2012.
The National Transitional Council, which represented the political apparatus that opposed Gadhafi in 2011 and served as the interim government after his removal, made an extremely curious appointment in August of 2011. That appointment was none other than Abdel Hakim Belhaj, an Al-Qaeda ally and ‘brother’. Here is a copy of that letter (translation beneath it):

As for Belhaj’s bonafides as an Al-Qaeda ally, consider the words of the notorious Ayman al-Zawahiri. In a report published one day prior to the date on the memo above, ABC News quoted the Al-Qaeda leader as saying the following – in 2007 – about the man the NTC put in control of Tripoli in 2011:
“Dear brothers… the amir of the mujahideen, the patient and steadfast Abu-Abdallah al-Sadiq (Belhaj); and the rest of the captives of the fighting Islamic group in Libya, here is good news for you,” Zawahiri said in a video, using Belhaj’s nom de guerre. “Your brothers are continuing your march after you… escalating their confrontation with the enemies of Islam: Gadhafi and his masters, the crusaders of Washington.”
The Libyan Islamic Fighting Group (LIFG) was founded by Belhaj.
In a BBC report from one month earlier – on July 4, 2011 – a man named Al-Amin Belhaj was identified as an NTC spokesman and said the following:
“Everyone knows who Abdel Hakim Belhadj is. He is a Libyan rebel and a moderate person who commands wide respect.”
Abdel Hakim Belhaj had been identified in a video report embedded in the the BBC article as…
“…about the most powerful man in Tripoli.”
Abdel Hakim Belhaj is many things but moderate is not one of them.
Interestingly, according to a report by the Jamestown Foundation in 2005, the man who attributed the ‘moderate’ label to Abdel Hakim Belhaj was actually a leader with the Libyan Muslim Brotherhood:
This last week Al-Amin Belhadj, head of the Libyan Muslim Brotherhood, issued a press release on the Arabic language section of Libya-Watch, (Mu’assasat al-Raqib li-Huqquq al-Insan) calling for urgent action on behalf of 86 Brotherhood members imprisoned since 1998 at Tripoli’s Abu Salim prison and on hunger strike since October 7.
The nexus between Al-Qaeda and the Muslim Brotherhood comes into clearer focus when one looks at the Libyan Ambassador to the United States. His name is Ali Sulaiman Aujali. He had the following to say about Belhaj according to an ABC News report:
“(Belhaj) should be accept(ed) for the person that he is today and we should deal with him on that basis… people evolve and change.”
Really? How many times do westerners have to fall for this line before they trip over it?
In fact, about one month prior to Aujali’s vouching for Belhaj, he appeared at the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA) convention. ISNA is a Muslim Brotherhood front group in America.
Aujali represents one individual who is willing to bridge the gap between Al-Qaeda and the Muslim Brotherhood.
Now, fast forward to 9/13/12, two days after the attack in Benghazi. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton celebrated the Muslim Eid holiday in the Ben Franklin room in Washington, D.C. and shared a podium with none other than Ali Sulaiman Aujali and a woman named Farah Pandith, who is a prominent name inside the Muslim Brotherhood in America.
In 2009, Pandith was sworn in as a U.S. Representative to Muslim Communities by Hillary Clinton. Pandith followed the path of the first Muslim elected to the U.S. Congress and was sworn in on the Qur’an.
Another interesting alliance revealed itself in various cities across America in the days after the death of Ambassador Stevens. In at least both Los Angeles, CA and Columbus, OH the Libyan American Association aligned with CAIR to hold a vigil for Ambassador Stevens.
While in Jamaica in June of 2011, Hillary Clinton rhetorically asked:
…whose side are you on? Are you on Qadhafi’s side or are you on the side of the aspirations of the Libyan people…
At that very moment – and in light of the release of this secret document – the appropriate question would have been:
…whose side are you on? Are you on Qadhafi’s side or are you on the side of Al-Qaeda…

We learned Tuesday that Barack Hussein Obama, along with the FBI, CIA, the State Department, and literally hundreds of intelligence-related entities within the federal government knew the Benghazi consulate had been attacked by terrorists within two hours.
We learned that three emails were sent directly to the White House Situation Room describing the incident as a terrorist attack.
We learned that Obama watched in real time and did nothing while four Americans were murdered.
And while Obama and the mainstream media were playing “Pin the tail on the YouTube video” for two weeks, Western Journalism had been on top of this story since day one. We knew that a cover-up was occurring from the very beginning.
But it was not simply a President who stood by and did nothing while four Americans were murdered. Not simply a President so myopic that he refused to accept that terrorists, under his “bridge-building” administration, would want to kill us.
It was something much more.

It seems President Obama has been engaged in gun-walking on a massive scale. The effect has been to equip America’s enemies to wage jihad not only against regimes it once claimed were our friends, but inevitably against us and our allies, as well. That would explain his administration’s desperate, and now-failing, bid to mislead the voters through the serial deflections of Benghazi-Gate.
A lot has been said — in the press, by the president, by others –about President Obama’s affinity for the Muslim world.
From his promise that “I will stand with them (Muslims) should the political winds shift in an ugly direction” to his description of the Muslim call to prayer as one of the prettiest sounds on Earth to his bowing before the Saudi king, Obama’s actions have convinced many people that the president is a Muslim, despite his protestations and claims to the contrary.
What hasn’t often been asked but should be, given recent evidence of infiltration by the Muslim Brotherhood in most if not all levels of government, is whether there is a Muslim agent working in the White House to manipulate the president.
One of Obama’s few actions that has shown any willingness to combat Muslim terrorism in defense of the U.S. has been his much-ballyhooed decision to order Navy SEALs to kill Osama bin Laden.
Now, U.S. Army Maj. Gen. Paul E. Vallely has issued a report based on an insider intelligence source that says Obama actually was clueless about the effort to get Osama, deliberately kept out of the loop by some of his senior Cabinet officers.
According to the report, Director of Central Intelligence Leon Panetta was the key player who made the call to get bin Laden, with the assistance of Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Secretary of Defense Robert Gates, Adm. Bill Mullen and Gen. David Petraeus.
Obama was not told about the effort until the SEAL team was already in Pakistani air space. The president was on the golf course when he was informed.
The reason for the sneaking about was that Panetta and the other staffers were tired of Obama nixing their efforts to take out the leader of al-Qaida. According to the report, Obama had rejected three kill missions earlier in the year.
In his book “Leading From Behind,” author Richard Miniter wrote that adviser Valerie Jarrett was the voice who kept urging Obama not to kill bin Laden.
Jarrett is a powerful figure at the White House, an Obama family friend who has an unexplained hold over the president and first lady.
Jarrett was born in Iran to American parents and lived there until about the age of 5. As a child, she spoke Persian and French. She and her parents spent one year in London, then came back to Chicago.
Her father-in-law is journalist Vernon Jarrett, who worked closely with Communist Party member and Obama mentor Frank Marshall Davis. Valerie Jarrett headed Obama’s transition team and personally vetted communist Van Jones and all the other extremists Obama has appointed.
In his book “The Amateur,” Edward Klein points out that Jarrett is the power behind the throne who sits in on every meeting, decides who gets to see the president and monitors who is loyal to Obama and who needs to be gotten rid of. The president reportedly doesn’t make a move without her, and she was the single roadblock to getting bin Laden.
Her religious leanings are not clear. The media either have not asked or have not gotten an answer. Many have speculated and others have denied that she, like Obama, is a closet Muslim.
What is clear is that she not only has communist contacts but she is a point man for the Administration in meetings with Muslim activists. She was named Iranian of the Day in August 2008 by Iranian.com.
She has been associated with the Obamas since their early days in Chicago, and those familiar with her background say that she provided crucial financial backing that helped Obama raise his national profile.
Our secretary of state has a chief aide who is connected to the Muslim Brotherhood in Huma Abedeen. Could Obama’s chief adviser, the woman who has been described as co-president, be a Muslim ringer as well?
The brief article on Iranian.com says Jarrett is Shirazi, but it is unclear whether the writer means that she was born in Shiraz, Iran, or that she is a member of the Swahili subgroup called Shirazi. The article calls her “African-American and Chicago royalty.” Links in the article to further information go to a blank page.
To a large extent, the woman pulling the strings at the White House is as much a mystery as the president himself.

shaheeds, including suicide bombers in Israeli cities. It designates
the allocations of funds to their families through the Hamas-affiliated Islamic
�charitable society� Al-Tadhamun in Nablus. The society is headed by sheikh
Hamid al-Bitawi, a prominent Hamas figure in the West Bank and one of the
representatives of � Palestine� on the UG board of trustees. The UG is headed by
sheikh Yussuf al-Qardawi, a renowned extremist Sunni Muslim scholar, who issued
a Muslim religious edict [fatwa] permitting women to perpetrate suicide
bombing attacks against Israel. The UG is run by �Essam Yussuf, a prominent
figure in Interpal, the most important British-based component of the UG.
HP-1267 Washington, DC-The U.S. Department of the
Treasury today designated the Union of Good, an organization
created by Hamas leadership to transfer funds to the terrorist
organization.
"Terrorist groups such as Hamas continue to exploit charities to radicalize
vulnerable communities and cultivate support for their violent activities," said
Stuart Levey, Under Secretary for Terrorism and Financial Intelligence. "The
U.S. Government will continue to expose and undermine the activities of
charities working on behalf of Hamas and other terrorist groups. At the same
time, we are working with the charitable sector to expand the range of
legitimate alternatives forproviding charitable assistance
to the Palestinian people."
Union of Good was designated today under Executive Order 13224,
which targets terrorists, terrorist organizations, and those
providing financial, technological, or material support to
terrorists, terrorist organizations, or acts of terrorism. Any assets the Union
of Good holds under U.S. jurisdiction are frozen and U.S. persons
are prohibited from engaging in any transactions with the Union of
Good.
The leadership of Hamas created the Union of Good in late-2000,
shortly after the start of the second Intifada, in order to
facilitate the transfer of funds to Hamas. The Union of Good acts
as a broker for Hamas by facilitating financial transfers between a web of
charitable organizations--including several organizations
previously designated under E.O. 13224 for providing support to
Hamas--and Hamas-controlled organizations in the West Bank and
Gaza. The primary purpose of this activity is to strengthen Hamas'
political and military position in the West Bank and Gaza, including by:
(i) diverting charitable donations to support Hamas members and the
families of terrorist operatives; and (ii) dispensing social
welfare and other charitable services on behalf of
Hamas.
Among the primary financiers of Union of Good projects are
several organizations designated pursuant to E.O. 13224 for providing support to
Hamas and other terrorist groups, including the International
Palestine Relief and Development Fund (Interpal), Al- Aqsa
Foundation, Comite de Bienfaisance et de Secours aux Palestiniens (CBSP), the
Association de Secours Palestiniens (ASP) of Switzerland, the
Palestinian Association in Austria (PVOE), and the Sanabil
Association for Relief and Development in Lebanon. The Union of
Good facilitates the transfer of tens of millions of dollars a year to Hamas-
managed associations in the West Bank and Gaza
Strip.
Funds raised by the Union of Good affiliates have been
transferred to Hamas-managed organizations in the West Bank and
Gaza. In addition to providing cover for Hamas financial transfers,
some of the funds transferred by the Union of Good have compensated Hamas
terrorists by providing payments to the families of suicide bombers.
One of them, the Al-Salah Society, previously identified as a key
support node for Hamas, was designated in August 2007 under E.O.
13224. The Society employed a number of members of the Hamas
military wing and supported Hamas-affiliated combatants during the
first Intifada.
The Union of Good's executive leadership and board of directors
includes Hamas leaders, Specially Designated Global Terrorists (SDGTs),
and other terrorist supporters. The secretary general of the Union of Good, for
example, also acts as the vice-chairman of the United Kingdom-based
Interpal, which was designated in 2003 for providing financial
support to Hamas under the cover of charitable activity. As of mid-2007, this
official served on the Hamas executive committee under Hamas leader
Khaled Misha'al.
Board members of the Union of Good include a West Bank Hamas member,
and Abd alMajid al-Zindani, a Yemen-based Hamas fundraiser who was
designated pursuant to E.O. 13224 in 2004 for providing support to al-Qaida. In
2006, Zindani delivered a fundraising speech at a Hamas conference
in Yemen where the crowd pledged millions of riyals for
Hamas.
The United States is also actively working with the Arab-American
community and other interested donors to provide alternate relief
mechanisms to the Palestinian people as we take action against the HAMAS

President will not meet any world leaders during UN General Assembly
World leaders from across the globe coming to New York City for the UN General Assembly, and so is President Barack Obama! With so much happening in the Middle East, surely he’s using this opportunity to get in front of the other leaders shaping the direction of human history, right? Nope. He has more important things to do, like go on The View.
“I personally think it is important to point out that the world is coming to New York,” Glenn said this morning.
Egypt’s President Morsi, a Muslim Brotherhood member, is influencing the direction of much of the Middle East. Mahmoud Ahmadinejad will be speaking on Tuesday, and will probably call for the destruction of Israel and the West. Israel, meanwhile, is concerned about their very existence.
“This is the Chamberlin moment,” Glenn said. “Our President is not meeting with any of them.”
“Forget about the Middle East. China, China is on the verge of war with Japan,” Glenn added.
“He is in New York City all the world, all of the world leaders are in New York City for the UN, how many meetings is he going to have? He’s having none, zero. And when asked about it, Gibbs said he’s got a phone. Isn’t there something to be said about a face-to-face.”
Glenn harshly criticized the President for choosing to attend fundraisers and go on The View rather than meet with world leaders.
“This isn’t about politics. It’s not about you or me. It’s about our children. Will your son or daughter go to war? Will your son or daughter be able to afford any kind of life,” he asked.
Glenn said that people may be tuning out over the Middle East and Israel, but that there are extreme economic and political ramifications to such an event. Glenn pointed out rising gas and food prices, and how things will only get worse as conflict continues and worsens.
Over the weekend, FOX News’s Chris Wallace asked Obama advisor Robert Gibbs about his priorities and his scheduling. TheBlaze reported:
Senior Obama campaign adviser Robert Gibbs on Sunday defended the president‘s plan to appear on ABC’s “The View” while skipping any private meetings with world leaders gathered in New York this week for the United Nations General Assembly. Appearing on “Fox News Sunday,“ Gibbs told host Chris Wallace he has ”no problem” with Obama’s decision to swap one-on-one meetings with his foreign counterparts for a joint appearance with first lady Michelle Obama on the daytime talk show. The Associated Press described such sessions as “where much of the U.N. works gets done” and said Obama was leaving Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to handle more of them. “You say that he’s got schedules, that foreign leaders have schedules,” Wallace said. “He has time for Whoopi Goldberg but he doesn’t have time for world leaders?” Gibbs, the former White House press secretary, insisted Obama would be “actively involved” in the U.N. proceedings, to which Wallace said Obama was “giving a speech.”
