Reporter reminds Obama spokesman who was killed by 'Fast & Furious'

Even after a reporter repeated the name at least three times, White House Press Secretary Jay Carney drew a blank when speaking today about the Border Patrol agent killed during the Obama administration’s “Fast & Furious” gunwalking operation.
At the White House press briefing today, ABC’s Jake Tapper made three mentions of Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry’s family.
“The family of Brian Terry, the slain Border Patrol agent at whose murder were at least two of these guns were found, they disagree with your characterization about these investigations. They say that the attorney general’s refusal to fully disclose the documents associated with ‘Fast & Furious’ and President Obama’s assertion of executive privilege serves to compound this tragedy. It denies the Terry family and the American people the truth, that’s the statement from the family lawyer.”
Carney responded by deflecting some of the blame onto the George W. Bush administration.
Then he forgot the name of the Border Patrol agent who lost his life during the scandal.
“Look, we absolutely agree with the need to find out the truth about why ‘Fast & Furious’ happened, why the tactic, again, was employed in the previous administration, in different operations and was stopped by this Attorney General, why it came about. And that’s why the Attorney General referred it to Inspector General. That is why we have provided Congress every document that pertains to the operation itself that is at issue here when you talk about the family that you referred to.”
ABC’s Jake Tapper interjected, reminding Carney of the family’s name.
Carney repeated “The Terry family” after Tapper helped him remember the name.
Before Carney’s slip-up, Tapper had been referencing the following statement released today by Terry family attorney Pat McGroder on behalf of Terry’s parents, Josephine and Kent. They were reacting to news of the Obama administration’s claim of executive privilege in an effort to stop release of thousands of documents related to “Fast & Furious”:

Attorney General Eric Holder’s refusal to fully disclose the documents associated with Operation Fast and Furious and President Obama’s assertion of executive privilege serves to compound this tragedy. It denies the Terry family and the American people the truth. Our son, Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry, was killed by members of a Mexican drug cartel armed with weapons from this failed Justice Department gun trafficking investigation. For more than 18 months we have been asking our federal government for justice and accountability. The documents sought by the House Oversight Committee and associated with Operation Fast and Furious should be produced and turned over to the committee. Our son lost his life protecting this nation, and it is very disappointing that we are now faced with an administration that seems more concerned with protecting themselves rather than revealing the truth behind Operation Fast and Furious.
