A woman was thrown onto the subway tracks in a vicious attack in Philadelphia on Tuesday. Woman Thrown on Subway Tracks During Violent Attack
This video is disturbing. A woman survives being thrown on the tracks during a vicious attack in the SEPTA subway
A woman survives being thrown onto the tracks during a vicious attack in the SEPTA subway.
We want to warn you that the video above may be difficult to watch.
The attacker and the woman were alone at the SEPTA subway station at 8th and Race in Chinatown on Tuesday afternoon. He asked to borrow a light for his cigarette . Then, without warning, he attacks her, drags her onto the landing and throws her down onto the tracks.
SEPTA Chief of Police Thomas Nestel tells NBC10 the woman, 23, was very fortunate she walked away with only bumps, bruises and some cuts.
"It's horrifying. And when you see that happen, you think the worst. We all know that there is a tremendous electric source. You touch taht, you die," Nestel said.

Nestel says he made the call not to go public because the attacker had a very distinct jacket on and he was confident that was their best lead.
He admits it was risky, but "it's also risky to put that information out. He gets rid of that coat and I lose my best chance to get a dangerous man off the streets."
The attacker was found two days later at 15th and JFK -- in that very jacket -- by a SEPTA officer.
Police say he had the victim's cell phone on him.

Police arrest man in Pa. subway hammer attack
At least 10 other riders witnessed the attack yet no one tried to stop it
- PHILADELPHIA — Police have arrested a man suspected of brutally attacking a dozing subway passenger with a hammer while other riders did nothing to stop the assault, the city's police commissioner said Wednesday. The suspect, taken into custody in a mental institution late Tuesday, has a lengthy record of rape and other convictions, Police Commissioner Charles Ramsey said on NBC's "Today."
The victim was treated and released from a hospital.
Ramsey criticized other riders for standing by when the assailant entered the train with his 5-year-old son, directed the boy to a seat, calmly pulled a hammer from a backpack and attacked a man dozing in a nearby seat.
At least 10 other riders were in the car when the attack occurred last week, yet no one interfered as the man repeatedly struck the victim in the train car and later out on a platform, Ramsey said on "Today."
"They better pray they're never a victim, because if someone was attacking them that way they would certainly hope someone would step forward and help, and it starts with stepping forward and doing something yourself," Ramsey said.
'Long history'
Police had asked the public to help identify the attacker and released surveillance video showing the early Sept. 4 attack that was played repeatedly on Philadelphia television stations - Police said the man was apprehended after family members called police. Ramsey did not identify the man or say whether he had been charged yet, but said he had a lengthy record."He has a long criminal history including rape, robbery, assault, narcotics violations," Ramsey said. The suspect apparently had tried to hurt himself with the hammer following the attack on the subway. Family members said they were not initially aware of the attack, but had the suspect committed to the mental institution where he was taken into custody. The victim, 20-year-old Dewayne Taylor, made his own way to a hospital and was treated for head and neck injuries. Taylor, who has been released from the hospital, said Tuesday he has no idea who the attacker is or why he was targeted.Copyright 2008 The Associated Press. All rights reserved. September 9, 2008, - 11:36 amDISTURBING: Muslim Shouting “Allah”/Arabic Brutally Attacks Man on Philly Subway With Hammer
By Debbie Schlussel

Well, they don’t call it the “Religion of Peace” for nothin’. (They love to lie and deceive.)
A Black man on a Philadelphia subway train told his little boy to go sit down. Then he took out a hammer and started brutally attacking an innocent passenger, DeWayne Taylor, also Black, who was dozing off, and beat him senseless, as the entire train car full of passengers did nothing and walked away.
But here’s the important part: The victim said that throughout the entire attack, the man with the hammer was chanting Arabic and saying, “Allah.” Watch the video report: (video was removed)
Watch Police Video of the Brutal Muslim Attack (real action starts at about 50 seconds in). There’s no sound (except police commentary to reporters), but, again, the victim says the attacker was shouting “Allah!” and Arabic throughout the attack: (Video was removed)
Folks, the jihad is here. As reader Daniel–who sent this story–notes, there are attacks by Muslims all over the country. All of them are underreported. To name a few, there was the execution-style attack in Salt Lake City at Trolley Square mall by Sulejman Talovic, a Bosnian Muslim. There was the attack on the Chassidic Rabbi Uria Ohana, earlier this year, at a Brooklyn subway station by several Arab Muslims shouting anti-Semitic epithets and “Allahu Akbar” [Allah is the greater/greatest]. And now, there is this episode in which this innocent young Black man is brutally beaten by a Muslim shouting “Allah.”
Says Daniel:
Philly is a ‘hotbead’ of Wahabbist mosques in the African-American community. We’ve seen many incidents of ‘jihad’ being carried out across the U.S., but UNDER-REPORTED by the majority of the mainstream press.
Exactly. Islam IS radical.
Just thought you’d like to know of the incident in Philly, that is getting some attention, but the MUSLIM connection is being ‘down-played’ or completely ignored by most of the press. Philly police also ARE NOT increasing patrols since they are saying this is an ‘isolated’ incident.
What does it take for America to wake up and realize that there is no such thing as “Radical Islam!”?
When will we say, “Enough”? When will enough of us say “Enough”? No-one on the train did a thing to stop this Muslim’s brutal beating of an innocent man minding his own business.
Again, the jihad is here.
Three guilty in subway beating death
Tuesday, August 25, 2009PHILADELPHIA - August 21, 2009 (WPVI) -- Three teens have been found guilty of charges in the beating death of a Starbucks manager on a Philadelphia subway concourse.Ameer Best, 18, and Nashir Fisher, 17, were found guilty of third degree murder and conspiracy.
Kinta Stanton, 17, was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter and conspiracy.
All three had been charged with third degree murder.
The attack happened in March, 2008 in a subway concourse at 13th and Market Streets.
Sean Conroy died of an acute stress-induced asthma attack during the beating.
It was the outcome Conroy's family had been praying for. They say the more they learned about his killers, the more this case screamed for justice, and they say they got it Tuesday.
The Conroys say they had been willing to forgive the boys who killed their only son, even hoping they could avoid jail time. But, when they saw the teens laughing their way through the trial, laughing and joking Tuesday with their girlfriends, they had a change of heart.
Now, Conroy's mother is hoping for a stiff sentence.
"Of course I'd like to see the maximum. I 'd like to see them off the streets of Philadelphia for a very long time," said Sharon Conroy.
"They planned this, they executed it down to the escape. They split up after they murdered my son so they would not be caught," said Sean's father Steven. "These are not innocent kids."
The three teenagers were led from the courtroom in handcuffs.
Their families left with no comment.
Stanton's lawyer was baffled by the verdict.
"It's a little upsetting because they heard him and I think they believed him," Lonny Fish, an attorney for Stanton, said of the jury's verdict. "I thought my client was innocent of all the charges."
The boys had claimed they did it on a dare, a test of their manhood...not intending to kill anyone.
All five teens had skipped school in North Philadelphia to head to a downtown mall, according to prosecutors. The teens were on the subway platform when someone challenged another group member to hit someone, and Conroy was punched from behind, authorities said.
A police officer soon observed four teens beating and kicking the man. By the time the officer got to him, Conroy was on his knees, gasping for breath. He was pronounced dead within the hour.
All three defendants told police they didn't hit Conroy, but Stanton was the only one to take the stand in his own defense.
Defense attorneys argued that the teens lacked the malice required to convict them of third-degree murder. Messages left by The Associated Press with attorneys for Best and Fisher were not immediately returned Tuesday.
Two other teens previously pleaded guilty in the case: Raheem Bell, 17, and Arthur Alston, 18. They are still awaiting sentencing.

There are many other stories . We need more police and I will support the Fireman and Police Unions.
