Today, conservative Democrat and natural-born citizen Leah Lax formally announced her candidacy for the Presidency of the United States of America. In a brief release, she issued the following statements:

"Today I am officially announcing my candidacy for President of the United States of America. I am a successful businesswoman, a widow with one son, and I am appalled at the direction Barack Hussein Obama and his handlers have taken this nation in. This is not the country I grew up in anymore, and I am determined to be part of the solution. The only way I see to do that is through strong leadership, and returning to the values that made us the greatest nation on earth, to begin with.

I can do that. I am a strong leader, and I do not back down to special interests or the powers-that-be. My administration will be a very bitter pill for them to swallow.

I have watched Barack Hussein Obama and all the entrenched career politicians take us down the very same road to destruction that every other failed nation in history has followed. For us to follow the same path that is now destroying Europe and the UK, is crazy. I am a free-market capitalist, an American who loves my country and my countrymen. I believe that most of the complaints cited in the Declaration of Independence against King George could be applied today to Barack Hussein Obama and the elites that are destroying this country.

I intend to stop them in their tracks. They do not know who they are up against, and they have seriously underestimated the strength of the American people. They have seriously underestimated me."

Ms. Lax has been a staunch supporter of the Tea Party movement, and enjoys the support of Dale Robertson, founder of Tea Party.org, where she has been a frequent contributor, and is one of the first online Tea Party organizations and a favorite of radio talk-show host Dr. Micheal Savage.

Ms. Lax also supports an aggressive domestic energy policy. She states that "...we cannot power this nation with pie-in-the-sky! We need to be putting people to work in the private sector. Get the Federal government out of the way, let the American people do what they do best, open up Federal land grabs to private industry. We can be fully self-sufficient within 2 years, and selling oil and gas to the rest of the world! We have more than enough resources right here in this country to safely power this nation responsibly for many decades, while we continue to research and develop other sustainable methods as well, but the technology is not here yet. American ingenuity WILL provide that technology, but we cannot do that if we are living in the dark-ages again, which is where the current administration is taking us!!"

Ms Lax also issued a warning; "Our current foreign-policy situation is abominable. Our last shuttle launched today, NASA has essentially been gutted, our military soon will be, and the Russian and Chinese will soon attain supremacy in our Near-Earth-Orbit satellite capabilities. I'm not real comfortable with foreign power-mongers such as these with total control of the skies, nuclear-weapon launch-scenarios, and the ability to destroy our infrastructure with an Electro-Magnetic Pulse detonation that we won't even be able to detect, or defend ourselves against until it is too late!!! President Ronald Reagan was right. 'Peace through strength.' And that is the policy I will agressively adopt. You will never see me bow to anybody but God."
